Installing Sumo (Non-Ecomm)

In order to install Sumo on your site, all you need to do is make sure the Sumo installation code is installed within the <body> tags of your site’s source code.

This can be done by 1 manually pasting the installation script below into your site’s <body> tags, or 2 if your platform has a more direct integration such as an app or plugin, you can install the Sumo app or plugin instead.


1) Manually Install Sumo

1 Create your Sumo account and click the Sign Up button or sign up with Google!

2 Copy your Sumo installation code

Pro tip: If you already have an account, you can view your SiteID by going to sumo.com/sites, then clicking View SiteID next to your site's URL.

3 Congrats! All you need to do is paste the Sumo code directly below the <body> tag inside of the main page of your website, and you are good to go!

Note: This method only works if you have access to your website's files. If you are using a CMS platform like Wordpress or Shopify, check out our Install Sumo With An App Or Plugin section below

To begin using Sumo, go to https://sumo.com/sites, then select your website (if you have multiple) and you will be auto logged in. Alternatively, you can add /#/sumome/app/login to end of your browser URL where Sumo is installed (Example: http://www.mywebsite.com/#/sumome/app/login)


2) Install Sumo On Wordpress

Warning: Your website must be a Wordpress.org site - NOT a Wordpress.com website.

1 Login to your website's Wordpress Admin Dashboard.

2 Select Plugins Add New. Search Sumo and then click Install Now

3 Click Activate to finalize your plugin install of Sumo.

4 Click on Settings within the plugin list or on Sumo within the Dashboard Panel itself.

5 Click on Connect Sumo in order to attach your account to access your Sumo apps and settings.

6 Enter in the Sumo account credentials you have already made, or create a new account.

7 Now you're ready to get started!

2) Install Sumo On Blogger


1 Create your Sumo account and click the Sign Up button or sign up with Google!

2 Copy your Sumo installation code

Pro tip: If you already have an account, you can view your SiteID by going to sumo.com/sites, then clicking View SiteID next to your site's URL.

3 Go to the main dashboard of your Blogger site and click the dropdown menu to the right of the pencil icon.

4 Select Template from the dropdown menu.

5 Click on Edit HTML.

6 Paste Sumo code below the <body> tag and click on Save theme.

7 Go back to the Template page and click the gear icon underneath Mobile

8 Click Yes. Show mobile templates on mobile devices. Then click on the dropdown menu under Choose mobile template and select Custom.

9 Click Save.

Now Sumo will show on both your Blogger desktop page and the mobile site. To access Sumo, go to your site and click on the Sumo badge, then login with your Sumo Account information and get started with our awesome guided tour!


3) Install Sumo On Other Platform
